As a Councilor, she serves as Chair of the Animal Services Board of the Mesilla Valley and the Transportation, Sustainability and Infrastructure Policy Review Committee.
Becky has taught at Doña Ana Community College for twelve years, where her courses focus on personal and community health, and advises students seeking careers in public health. Recently, Becky consulted with the Project Firstline training program of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to train frontline health care workers in infection control practices.
With twenty years of experience in public health and education, Becky has worked with diverse communities and focused her work on education, access and equity. Specifically, she has worked on LGBTQ+ advocacy; animal rescue; farmworker health and equity in education. She has served as a member for ACTion Programs for Animals (APA) and Emerge New Mexico Boards of Directors.
